Today everybody is talking about how bad the economy is…people losing their jobs…their homes…companies closing or downsizing. It’s all negative. Did you know that for every negative their is a positive? It’s one of the laws of the Universe; the law of polarity. The law of polarity states that everything in the universe has its equal opposite.  For every bad there is good; for every failure there is success and so on. Realize that every situation just is; you make it negative or positive by how you choose to think about it.

So what is positive about the bad economy? Since so many people are losing their jobs or finding that there is no such thing as job security they are looking to make money other ways. They are turning to the internet and here is the positive– so many more people to show your opportunity to. If you are creative, you can build your business fast.

I don’t watch the news or read a newspaper.  I don’t want the negativity to stop me from focusing on building my business. I recommend this to everyone who is easily distracted by the news. Remember that bad news is what gets people to listen, read or watch. For some reason people are attracted to negativity. I’m sure there is a psychological explanation for this and you could probably find it if you googled it, but the why is not important. What is important is not to let negativity stop you from reaching your goals.

When something bad happens to you, try to look at the situation in another perspective. Try to find the equal opposite or the positive. After you do this a few times it will become natural and you will notice a change in your attitude and eventually your life will change for the better.

Three years ago my financial situation was not good. I knew I needed to find a way to make some extra money. Finding a part-time job was not an option. I had read about so many people making money on the internet. I thought it would be easy and I won’t have to talk to people. You see, I am a shy person and it is out of my comfort zone to just pick up the phone and talk to a stranger. What I found is that talking to people is necessary to grow your business.

You  have to talk to people if you want to be successful. I spent many months putting this off. I would make one excuse after another. Does this sound familiar? I was able to talk myself out of calling a new affiliate but then they would quit. Most people need to know that you are a real person and it is important that you call them when they sign up. All you need to do is get them started. This may take many phone calls or just one or two.

When I started my online business, it grew very slowly.  This is because I needed to grow and develop myself before I could grow my business. I read self-development books, joined Bob Proctor’s Six Minutes to Success program and talked with my upline. All of this self improvement took 2 years! Now I am ready to grow my business quickly. I still have more growing to do but I am now at a point of understanding myself and knowing what needs to be done to build my business.

Now I’m not saying it will take you 2 years to grow your business but you will need to spend time on your personal growth in order to reach your goals. It may only take reading a few books or listening to a few audio tapes or it may take more. What you need to understand is, your business will not continue to grow if you do not grow with it. You can blame it on the business. You can say this business doesn’t work but is that the truth or is it that you don’t work? Do you do all that is required to grow your business? Do you spend enough time promoting and talking to people? Do you look for new ways to get your business in front of people?

If the answer is no, then it is not the business that is not working. This is a mistake that many people make. They try a business for a few weeks or months and quit because they are not making money right away. If you keep quitting a business how will you ever reach success? You won’t. You have to be persistent and consistent to grow your business. And talking to people is one of the requirements.

So if you are like me and talking to people scares you…Get out of your comfort zone and just do it. You will build confidence each time you talk to someone and it really does get easier… Success is just around the corner!

Make your own economy!

When I started my journey to financial freedom, I had very limited knowledge. As I researched and read, my knowledge base grew and it is still growing. An important concept I learned is multiple sources of income (MSI) factors success.

Success means different things to different people but I want to touch on financial success. So multiple sources of income is the best way to become financially successful (rich). Most wealthy people have more than one source of income, usually they have many sources.

Where do you find these multiple sources of income? You can spend your time looking on the internet at the hundreds of thousands of businesses available. But I want to suggest another way.

I suggest you write your goal down on paper. Describe this goal in great detail; how much you want to make, where you will live, the house you will live in, how you will spend your days and so on. Take your time with this, don’t hurry through it. Put down as much detail as you can. You are probably wondering how this will help you find multiple sources of income, but stay with me and you will see.Once you have your detailed goal down and are living like it has already happened, that is when the ideas start coming. Does this sound unrealistic? This works, but you must believe that you are worthy of this goal and that you can reach this goal.

The next step is to write down every idea that you can think of to make money. Then with each idea, ask three questions: will this help people? can I make money with it? will I enjoy doing this? If the answer is yes to all three, then get the idea started. Once you have this income source working, then move on to the next. Soon you will have multiple sources of income.
