Lana calls it the GDI Matrix Buster and it is the best system I have found to promote GDI.  Here’s how it works: Your prospect signs up from your splash page, then they submit their information, your autoresponder follows up with the prospect for 100 days, your automatic email messages enroll GDI members for you.

The autoresponder that is used is Traffic Wave or Aweber. I recommend Traffic Wave because it is more cost effective.  It costs $17.95 per month but it is also an income stream for you. When prospects sign up for the system, they will need an autoresponder if they want the system to work correctly.  There is so much you can do with an autoresponder besides this so it is a great tool to have.

Lana will also give you a free training site. The training is for the generic system and the GDI system. It is an extensive training site with new information and help added all the time.

It still amazes me that Lana gives this system away. She could easily charge a monthly fee but she chooses not to . She wants to help people build their online business and that makes her a special person.

The reason I am writing this is I had a chance to see the President. There was a rumor that he was stopping at a local restaurant to have lunch. I was sure he would be there as it was our Mayor’s favorite restaurant. All morning long I heard all the roads that were closed and kept telling myself that I will never be able to get to the restaurant and he probably won’t show up so I didn’t even try. Well, he did show up and two of my co-workers found a way to get to the restaurant. They met him, shook hands and had a great time. This was probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience for them and it could have been for me also.

So why am I telling you this?  I missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity because of my negative thoughts. Bob Proctor calls this the X Y Factor. X being your “comfort zone” and Y is out of your comfort zone. When you decide to do something that is different (Y factor), the X factor steps in and stops you with those negative thoughts. I know you have had this experience also. I believe everyone has been stopped by the X factor.

After, I found out the President did show up at the restaurant, I vowed to never let this happen again! I plan to act on my thoughts and ideas no matter what negative thoughts come into my head. I vow to overcome these thoughts and do the things I want to do.

This was a learning experience for me and a turning point in my life.  I hope by sharing this with you, you won’t miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you really want to do something such as a new job, or moving to a new city or starting your own business go for it.  Of course, you do need to think about a life-changing opportunity but make sure the thoughts are not all negative. Don’t let  your X factor step in and tell you you can’t do it.  Make sure that your thoughts are based on fact not fear so you won’t miss your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

So how many times have you seen someone offer you a free trial of something or other, but to get started you need to provide a credit card number, or use your Paypal account to sign up?

A lot of services or products even ask that you pay only $1 to start any sort of trial and act as if you are getting an incredible value.

But what they are really doing is getting your credit card number or PayPal account locked into their auto re-billing feature and hiding behind their real motive simply by telling you that it is for your convenience.

It is a well known fact that many people who offer products or services are making more money due simply to people forgetting to cancel these auto re-bills.

Now along comes Ian Herculson with an incredible free trial offer. You don’t have to give your credit card or Paypal account number up front! It’s just a free trial because he believes it works and is not hiding behind anything.

It’s called the Smart Subscriber marketing system and Ian claims he will make you money through affiliate commissions.

I signed up for the free trial to see if Ian’s claims are real. I used the ads he provided (I tweaked them a little) and sent it out using several safelists. I received six free trial sign ups. Now I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but if I do this with more safelists, traffic exchanges, classified ads and other advertising, this will add up.

Under the revised Guides, advertisements that feature a consumer and convey his or her experience with a product or service as typical when that is not the case will be required to clearly disclose the results that consumers can generally expect. In contrast to the 1980 version of the Guides – which allowed advertisers to describe unusual results in a testimonial as long as they included a disclaimer such as “results not typical” – the revised Guides no longer contain this safe harbor.

The revised Guides also add new examples to illustrate the long standing principle that “material connections” (sometimes payments or free products) between advertisers and endorsers – connections that consumers would not expect – must be disclosed. These examples address what constitutes an endorsement when the message is conveyed by bloggers or other “word-of-mouth” marketers. The revised Guides specify that while decisions will be reached on a case-by-case basis, the post of a blogger who receives cash or in-kind payment to review a product is considered an endorsement. Thus, bloggers who make an endorsement must disclose the material connections they share with the seller of the product or service. Likewise, if a company refers in an advertisement to the findings of a research organization that conducted research sponsored by the company, the advertisement must disclose the connection between the advertiser and the research organization. And a paid endorsement – like any other advertisement – is deceptive if it makes false or misleading claims.

The new guidelines are a way to keep the truth in advertising in  social media marketing. The FTC did not necessarily see a problem at this time but wanted to prevent problems in the future. Unfortunately, there are always people who take advantage of the “no rules” and ruin it for all the “honest” people out there.

If you are honest in your blog posts, then you will not have a problem. And that is what all advertising should be.
