Talking to People is Necessary to Grow Your Business

Three years ago my financial situation was not good. I knew I needed to find a way to make some extra money. Finding a part-time job was not an option. I had read about so many people making money on the internet. I thought it would be easy and I won’t have to talk to people. You see, I am a shy person and it is out of my comfort zone to just pick up the phone and talk to a stranger. What I found is that talking to people is necessary to grow your business.
You have to talk to people if you want to be successful. I spent many months putting this off. I would make one excuse after another. Does this sound familiar? I was able to talk myself out of calling a new affiliate but then they would quit. Most people need to know that you are a real person and it is important that you call them when they sign up. All you need to do is get them started. This may take many phone calls or just one or two.
When I started my online business, it grew very slowly. This is because I needed to grow and develop myself before I could grow my business. I read self-development books, joined Bob Proctor’s Six Minutes to Success program and talked with my upline. All of this self improvement took 2 years! Now I am ready to grow my business quickly. I still have more growing to do but I am now at a point of understanding myself and knowing what needs to be done to build my business.
Now I’m not saying it will take you 2 years to grow your business but you will need to spend time on your personal growth in order to reach your goals. It may only take reading a few books or listening to a few audio tapes or it may take more. What you need to understand is, your business will not continue to grow if you do not grow with it. You can blame it on the business. You can say this business doesn’t work but is that the truth or is it that you don’t work? Do you do all that is required to grow your business? Do you spend enough time promoting and talking to people? Do you look for new ways to get your business in front of people?
If the answer is no, then it is not the business that is not working. This is a mistake that many people make. They try a business for a few weeks or months and quit because they are not making money right away. If you keep quitting a business how will you ever reach success? You won’t. You have to be persistent and consistent to grow your business. And talking to people is one of the requirements.
So if you are like me and talking to people scares you…Get out of your comfort zone and just do it. You will build confidence each time you talk to someone and it really does get easier… Success is just around the corner!
